Psychological Accuracy for Prestige Storytelling & Legacy Narratives

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), narrative consultant, and ghostwriter. I read a character the same way I read a person in session: not by the event in their backstory, but by the survival myth that event built and the unconscious parts that took over to manage it. I bring this framework into story rooms, manuscripts, memoir, and mental health drafts.

This isn't short-term craft band-aids layered on top of vague psychological information, but in-depth insight, applied directly to the page.

Why This Works

Great fiction runs on the gap between what a character wants and what they're unconsciously terrified of. Most writers can feel that tension but can't locate it precisely, so the character drifts through the story instead of driving it, and the reader checks out without knowing why. Memoir has its own version of the problem: the material is real, but if you're not clear on why you're telling it, the reader won't be clear on why they should care.

Audiences have gotten harder to fool. Most readers and viewers now have some fluency in their own inner work, and they can tell, even when they can't name it, when a breakdown is unearned or a character's growth is explained instead of inhabited. The same instinct carries into nonfiction: they sense when mental health advice is recited instead of lived, and when a legacy story lists accomplishments instead of revealing the person's growth behind them. They're already exhausted by machine-generated stories because AI can't produce the lived psychological logic underneath a great one. You can't prompt for that logic. It comes from years inside the complexity of human psychology: minds that don't move in clean lines, healing that spirals instead of climbs, and subjective experiences like beauty, love, and loss that no machine can understand or express.

A character's defenses should behave like an actual nervous system under threat: internal conflict that erupts into external conflict. Anything less reads as formulaic, and your audience feels it.

Services

Pricing below is a starting point. Every contract is negotiated based on project scope and need.

Clinical Script & Manuscript Evaluation for novelists, screenwriters, and mental health authors

  • For fiction and scripts: an in-depth analysis of your draft, built to find exactly where the internal psychology breaks down: arcs that resolve without earning it, a moral argument that never clarifies, character webs that are missing or fail to resonate.
  • For mental health and self-help authors: comment-by-comment developmental notes that find the sharper book inside your draft: the core argument you keep circling but haven't centered, the psychology your advice skips over (where readers will think "okay, but how?"), the places a personal story would land harder than a principle, and exactly what to cut, deepen, or restructure so your book holds up under a licensed reader's scrutiny.
  • $150/hr, single sessions or ongoing blocks.
  • Full-manuscript audits at a flat fee: $2,500 for novels and books up to 100,000 words, $1,200 for scripts under 120 pages.

1:1 Character Psychology for fiction writers

  • An interactive session to build character profiles and webs: each character's unconscious drives, moral weakness, need, and self-revelation, and how those intersect to express your moral argument and your story's premise.
  • $250 per 90-minute block.

Premium Developmental Rewrite & Legacy Ghostwriting for founders, executives, and legacy authors

  • A strict work-for-hire arrangement for high-net-worth individuals ready to put a legacy memoir or transformative self-help book into the world. You retain 100% of the IP, copyright, and future revenue; I'm paid upfront through a flat project fee.
  • Entry point: the Manuscript Rescue Package, starting at $9,500 flat. Includes a clinical audit of your draft and a 10,000-word developmental rewrite of your core introductory chapters.

For Agencies, Acquisitions Editors & Independent Authors

If you represent a premium ghostwriting agency, an acquisitions desk, or an independent author or screenwriter who needs clinical-grade audits rather than general developmental notes, this is built for you.

I bring licensure, professional confidentiality, and a structured, remote-ready process to sensitive, high-ticket personal histories, complex recovery narratives, and alternative wellness proposals: the projects where a standard editor's read isn't deep enough and the material deserves more care than a generalist can offer.
